Dear past me,
Hey you, yeah you, the girl that thinks she knows it all. Its me, Alyssa, well its you but 7 years in the future and with this letter I bring you, I mean us, I mean never mind, both good news and bad news. So what do you want first? Well since you can't really choose, I guess I'll have to choose for you. So guess what?! It worked! Your dreams to be a published writer have come true. Yup, you wrote a book and you have a pretty great job writing for a newspaper. Sure it isn't as great as writing a novel but your happy and well. Don't get the impression that we got this easily. Oh no. We almost didn't finish school and we lost our dream job. Yup, oh wait you don't know about that. Let me explain:
after you found out your book was being published, you went to New York for almost two months to get it done but there was one little problem with that, while you were working on your book in New York, you were suppose to be in Ohio at school. You really didn't think you were going to finish but someway, somehow we did both and then we were offered a job. A really good job, okay better than good, an amazing job but sadly it didn't work out. So after all that you came back to Ohio and found a job writing for a magazine. You were twenty two, passionate and with a dream. Things were going swell for you, and you loved your job. That was until four months ago when everything changed. You just wasn't happy anymore with what you were doing and so you quit. Although they were sorry to see you go you went. You moped around for weeks until a friend of yours told you about a job writing for a newspaper. You went and checked it out and they liked us, they saw something in us and they hired us. So now, your twenty-three and everything is going great. Your actually happy, you haven't met anyone yet, I mean guy wise serious-relationship-type thing. You live in a great apartment with the best roommate a person could have. You have great friends and are closer to your family than ever before. The road you took to get to where you are now hasn't been the easiest, but everything that has happened to us has made us the person we are today. By the way this letter wasn’t to tell you about all the cool stuff you have in the future, like a voice-controlled robot that makes you food or cleans your house or a flying car. The future is pretty much like the past but you have just grown up a hell of a lot. So stop moping and asking yourself where your life is going to go. You'll do it, we did it. So that's it dude, future you is happy. So keep up what your doing, not to mention stay in college. Don't drop out for the love of god, or else everything you have just read washes away.
From,
You.
