Ive written about the fan-mania that surrounds IT boy, Rob Pattinson, but I've never properly sat down and blogged about the character that gave Mr Spunk Ransom his immediate fame. After all, its Edward that girls wants. Edward Cullen, that 108 year old vamp, has completely redefined the term Prince Charming. A sparkly, pale, imhumanly beautiful guy is what girls are clamouring for - sorry Efron. But why? Truth be told, Twilight plus the rest of the saga, are not brilliantly written yet Stephenie Meyer manages to captivate us and make us fall in love with Edward. Its as though you have to fall for him else you dont "get" the books.I fell for him and yet I have no goddamn clue as to why. Is it his protective manner he has around Bella, his habit to do the simple things like opening car doors, his perfect looks, or just that fact that he's a vampire? For me, the vampire, does nothing. Sure, Ok, it'd be cool if my boyfriend could jump from tree to tree, it would also be pretty awesome if he could read minds, but the thing draws me in and makes me a faithful "Team Edward" member is how he is described, not only physically but mentally. I swear Edward Cullen can do no wrong, and if he does its the right thing to do anyway plus the unconditional love he seems to possess is really what every girl wants dont they? When I heard they were making Twilight into a film I went mad, I had no idea how they were going to portray the undeniable love Edward and Bella have with two medicore actors. But more importantly who the hell could play Edward? The guy is described as being nearly perfect so they are some big shoes to fill my friends. Stephenie Meyer had down "Henry Cavill"as her potential Edward. I Googled him, my eyes widened in shock and then I shook my head. Sure, the guys good looking but not inhumanly beautiful. But then news surfaced that Robert Pattinson had got the role. At first I was totally sceptical, Id seen him in Harry Potter where he looked adorably boyish so it was beyond me how they were going to make this British boy into some sort of God. They succeeded, boy did they ever. He looks great, not ideally how I saw Edward, but close enough. In fact I think he's one of the better cast, Kristen Stewart is slowly growing on me - still not quite there yet. Still, the Edward Cullen that was introduced to me back in 2004 will always be the same no matter how much media is used to sway us otherwise, Rob my man your doing a fine job, just sort the accent out and your good to go. And I wont deny it, I want Edward, what girl wouldnt? Well besides those who love that flea ridden werewolf, obviously..."Do you ever think that you're life would be easier if you weren't in love with me?"Edward Cullen"
