I told myself this year I would learn to play the guitar. True, I had a go at it last year but only managed to strum a few notes that didn't sound totally horrific. Now, I'm slowly learning the ropes again. I want to play an instrument, several in fact. And my first is the guitar. I'm not one of these people that can pick something up just like that. I have to work at it, stay with it and master it. At times I can be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to trying new things. The guitar deems no different. Ryan plays. And Ryan is teaching me, kinda. I've also learnt to control my impatience. I can get too fixated on learning one thing that I mess everything else up and increasingly become annoyed. I'm planning on mastering the guitar by the end of the month - fingers crossed. And then I can move onto other goals etc. Why am I learning? I never played an instrument as a child, I guess it just wasnt what I wanted to do. I'd rather ride my bike or go on adventures. Everytime someone would ask if I played anything I shook my head and said 'no'. Now I want, when someone asks, to be able to reel off a number of things. But first I gotta learn them. I'll let you know when I conquer it ...
